We at Royal Mountain Travel take pride in our team of guides, porters and leaders. All of our guides are Government License holders and are trained from the NATHM (National Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management). They have received training on being a trekking and cultural guide.

To provide them with better opportunities, we have been regularly organizing yearly first aid training in our office, and the training is being organized with the Nepal Red Cross Society, Bhaktapur Branch. Every year all our guides, drivers and leaders are required to participate in this training.

We hold regular guide and leader training, which helps them to excel in their professional guiding career. Our senior leaders are trained regularly by our travel partners. The knowledge and experience gained by our seniors are then passed on to our guides. The training focuses on client satisfaction, meeting expectations, providing life-changing experiences to our clients and actions to be taken during emergency situations. In order to enhance the training facilities for our guides, we have started hiring international experts for guide training.

Royal Mountain Travel believes in sustainable tourism, so we always prefer to hire locals as porters to support our trekking team. Generally, our porters are students looking for a part-time job and belong to the villages we trek through. After completing their studies, most of our porters join our team of guides. To safeguard our porters and their health, we allow each porter to carry only 15 kgs of luggage.
