On Arrival in Nepal

Tribhuvan International Airport has only one runway. With the growing number of international and domestic airlines serving it, the airport is running at full capacity. Therefore, sometimes aircrafts are requested to remain on hold during busy times, and delays to landing or take-off can be expected. The small international terminal building can get crowded when three or four international flights are departing/landing at the same time. Long queues to complete visa and immigration formalities and baggage claim can be expected.

Trolleys are available at the airport and are free to use. At the exit of the arrivals area, you will find hundreds of Nepalis showing various placards, hotel signs etc. We recommend that you wait for a while inside the gate, and carefully check the placards for your name, then wave to the person holding the placard. This will be our airport representative/tour officer/your guide and will assist you to your car for your transfer to the hotel.

Please note that you are not supposed to pay money to anyone at the airport. Many hawkers will try to get money from nervous travellers. We request that you keep away from such people and only walk with our representative to your car. Please avoid talking to other people. In the car, our representative will brief you on the way to your hotel.
