Illam Community Homestay
Charismatic Illam, is famous for the enchanting natural scenery and landscapes, tea production, and diverse agricultural economy. Shree Antu Danda (around 2,300m) lies in Ilam district in eastern Nepal, right on the border in Darjeeling/India and south of Kanchenjunga (8586m), which is the world’s third highest mountain. Ilam is Nepal’s main tea growing area. Ilam is home to a variety of ethnicities, like Limbu, Rai, Lepcha, Magar, Tamang and others. Besides exploring the socio-cultural traits of the people in this area and enjoying the scenic view of the rolling hills covered with tea plantations and the lush green of the surrounding jungle, we can visit one of the tea estates.

Illam Community Homestay lies in Shree Antu Danda (around 2,300m) lies in Ilam district in eastern Nepal, right on the border in Darjeeling/India and south of Kanchenjunga (8586m), which is the world’s third highest mountain. Shree Antu is one of the untouched destinations for tourists. Famous for tea production, Shree Antu is a small hill town with pristine landscapes of sloped tea gardens, mountain streams, dense natural forests, holy sites and a unique culture. It offers a brisk walk in the tea garden, tranquil picnic and sightseeing stops, short treks along gentle slopes, or a trudge into the nearby woods.
36 families have opened their houses for the tourists from all around the world. The community Homestay was started 2000A.D and got legally registered in 2009.As Illam is also popular among the internal tourists, there is a good flow of guests throughout the year.
