The Manaslu Trek is a 14-day tea-house trek which goes around Manaslu, the 8th highest mountain in the world (8,156 m). It can be lengthened by including the newly opened Tsum Valley, an area that has been open to trekkers since 2008 which is a sacred Himalayan pilgrimage valley, close to Tibet.
The best months Manslu trekking are March, April, May and the last week in September to mid-December. The busiest season is October. Limits are the monsoon (June to September) and winter snow and lodge closures (Larkya Phedi, Bimtang) from some time in December to late February, early March.
