A mere 26 kms away from Kathmandu, it stands out as one of the most accessible places to experience life far away from the hustle and bustle  of city life. Nagarkot also boasts one of the most majestic and panoramic views of exquisite mountain ranges and enjoy stunning mountain views right from your homestay.

Nagarkot Community Homestay is a settlement of Bastola clan and Teej is one of the auspicious festivals celebrated at the homestay. It is celebrated by Hindu women all over Nepal and takes place between mid-August or mid-September. The word Teej comes from a tiny red insect, the red velvet mite that appears around the monsoon period. This festival is mainly known to be celebrated by married women for the well-being of their husbands or by unmarried women who pray in the hope of having a good husband. On this day, numerous women gather to celebrate this festival together. Most of them wear red outfits, creating a beautiful red sea of people moving as one.

Nagarkot is a popular destination for short breaks from Kathmandu, known for its fantastic Himalayan views. At Nagarkot Community Homestay, you’ll experience a pleasant and homely stay, away from touristy hotels and the experience is enhanced especially when visiting in a festive period.

NOTE: Please be advised that this is a group trip option, and we also offer the flexibility to tailor it as a private experience. Kindly note that the trip cost may be adjusted for private bookings, and is therefore subject to change accordingly.
