Buddha Air, a private airline company, has begun direct flights from Pokhara to Nepalgunj, reducing travel time between the two cities from 14 hours by road to just half an hour. Initially, there will be three flights between the cities every Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday. The direct flights are expected to boost tourism in the area, allowing tourists visiting Pokhara to also visit destinations in Nepalgunj such as the Banke National Park and Chisapani. The flights are also expected to increase the number of Indian and foreign tourists visiting Pokhara from cities such as Lucknow, Kanpur, and Delhi.
