The Everest Region is open for “fully” vaccinated domestic and international visitors. Such anticipated good news was announced on 23rd August as the Khumbu Pasanglhamu Municipality vaccinated 98% of its total population above 18 years of age.

The rise of Covid -19’s second wave attributed to aggressive vaccination campaigns in the region. The administration chief for the Khumbu Municipality, Sujan Kumar Budhathoki, quotes that almost every responsible resident of the Everest region is fully vaccinated. The travelers, who wish to visit the Everest region, may get to see the might Himalayan range, but the Khumbu Entry Protocols have to be comprehended.

The flying visitors have to bring vaccination certificates OR two PCR ‘negative’ test reports conducted within 72 hours. Travelers hiking into the region will have to go through ‘antigen tests’ at Naji Pangma. The cost for antigen tests is on the visitors themselves.

Domestic and international tourists traveling through roadway will have to do the antigen tests at Kharikhola Community Health Centre in Khumbu Pasanglhamu RM-1 and Chaurikharka Health Post in Khumbu Pasanglhamu RM-3.

If the results of the tests come positive, the person must spend on their own for the isolation facility provided by the Municipality.
