Everest diamond jubilee celebration kicks off

KATHMANDU: Diamond Jubilee of the first ascent to Mt. Everest is being celebrated with various promotional programmes from today upon reaching 60 years of the setting foot on the world’s highest peak Mt. Everest by a human being.

Nepal to celebrate diamond jubilee of first Everest ascent

KATHMANDU, May 22: The government is organizing various programs to mark the Diamond Jubilee of the first ascent of the Mt Everest.
“On May 26, International Everest Conference will be held in Khumjung, tree plantation program will be carried out at Hillary Park and paper presentation will be made by experts on mountaineering and climate change,” Subash Nirola, officiating CEO of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), told a press meet on Wednesday.National and international experts in tourism and mountaineering have been invited to attend the conference.
