Everest climbers to be feliciated in Barcelona

Everest ExpeditionLONDON, May 13 : Mount Everest climbers from around the globe will be honored in Barcelona, Spain on the occasion of Nepal Promotion Day jointly organized by Nepali Embassy in France, Non- Resident Nepalese Association Spain and Nepali Consulate in Barcelona.

Diamond jubilee medals handed over to Everest summiteers

KATHMANDU, May 29: The government on Wednesday awarded Everest Diamond Jubilee medals to record-setting Everest summiteers to mark the 60th anniversary of the first ascent of the world´s tallest mountain.
Khil Raj Regmi, chairman of the interim election government, awarded the medals to 40 national and international climbers. Nepal has been celebrating the diamond jubilee of the first ascent of Mt Everest by organizing series of programs in Kathmandu and Khumbu Region from May 26-29. Continue Reading→

Everest sees historic number of ascents

KATHMANDU, MAY 22 – The highest peak in the world, Mt Everest, has seen a historic number of successful climbers this year. According to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, 467 climbers successfully reached the highest point on earth from Nepal or the south side as of Wednesday. And, the spring expedition on Everest is yet to be over.
“The figure is the highest ever on the top of Everest,” spokesperson of the ministry Mohan Krishna Sapkota said. “There are a number of climbers still waiting for their turn in the Everest balcony.” Continue Reading→
