Committee formed to put Tourism Industry “Back on Track”

Tourism stakeholders have formed a joint panel of government officials and private sector to assess damage on hotels, cultural heritage sites and trekking trails made by the earthquake and initiate repair works immediately to bring the country’s tourism industry back on track at the earliest.

The Tourism Recovery Committee (TRC), which was formed on May 7, is led by Director General of Department of Tourism (DoT) Tulsi Prasad Gautam. Continue reading

Tourists from 120 countries visited the Annapurna Circuit Trek in 2014

Annapurna CircuitJunu Pun, tourism assistant at Dharapani check post of Annapurna Conservation Area project (ACAP), said the popular trekking trail received visitors from 120 countries from across the world in 2014. Last year, the trail had received visitors from 86 countries. “The popularity of Annapurna Region is growing with each passing year. We are getting visitors from across the world,” she added.
