Heavy snowfall in Nepal

Mexican climber sets Everest record with double summit

KATHMANDU: A veteran Mexican climber was confirmed on Thursday as the first person to climb Everest from both sides of the mountain in the same season.

Diamond jubilee medals handed over to Everest summiteers

KATHMANDU, May 29: The government on Wednesday awarded Everest Diamond Jubilee medals to record-setting Everest summiteers to mark the 60th anniversary of the first ascent of the world´s tallest mountain.
Khil Raj Regmi, chairman of the interim election government, awarded the medals to 40 national and international climbers.
